Become a Volunteer
Snipes Farm & Education Center is always on the lookout for a few good volunteers to help maintain and enhance our 150-acre farm and natural areas.
Throughout the year, we accept volunteer help from corporations, community groups, schools, scout and youth-group organizations, and individuals to do a variety of fun jobs. Scouts can work toward badge requirements.
Volunteering is a great way to get outside and make new friends. Meet new people while learning first-hand about our sustainable farming practices!
Volunteer with The Green Team
Join our Volunteer Green Team! We are a group of volunteers who enjoy eradicating invasive plants, pulling weeds, and turning a neglected piece of land into an oasis. Our group has a log of master watershed stewards and master gardeners, but we welcome anyone to join our fun team
Green team meets thrice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday and 2nd Saturday of each month. Projects we work on are not limited but include maintaining the tiny forest we planted in 2024, removing knotweed and grapevine to preserve old growth and native trees, maintaining our bioretention basion and meadow, and maintaining native garden beds around the farm.
Our Team coordinators are Tim and Charlotte Taylor-Snipes, the farm’s property managers, and naturalist Paula Walter. Email: GreenTeam@snipesfarm.org to be added to our email list (we send emails 1-4 days before each volunteer day!)
